    Re: freezing grapes for teething?

Yeah, grapes are hard even for adults to digest. Something in the skins. I used a frozen baby washcloth. It cut down on the potential fruit juice mess from the mesh feeder, too.
  2. Re: Started feeding my baby breast then intoduced formula and now want breast only!

Good for you for being proactive and getting help! It's a great feeling, isn't it?
If it were me (and it kinda was at one point), I would just nurse him more to edge out the formula. I am assuming...

Re: latching on to all body parts

My son has gotten my neck, shoulder and boob (other than where he was supposed to be). And sometimes, it's frantic. He really likes to suck and will not take a paci. He cracks me up.:snicker

    Re: another bottle refuser

You're doing wonderfully. Your daughter's father will be ashamed of the way he feels when he sees what a beautiful, healthy WELL-ADJUSTED daughter he has, coutesy of your mothering. I know it's...

Re: Not the way we do it anymore?!?

I totally feel ya on the IV! Mine hurt so badly, I told the nurse in my recovery room that if she didn't remove it, I would do it myself. She reluctantly removed it.
I don't know why that nurse...

    Re: Thrush/nipple confusion

I agree with the advice the pp gave to you. And your priority after #1 (feed the baby) should be to clear up the thrush! I had a case for 7 weeks before I found relief, and boy, what a difference! ...

    Re: Annoyed re: dental issues

The white spots are normal, the greyish color is staining. I know it's annoying when doctors take a quick peek and dispense advice. But cavities are usually pretty easy to recognize, especially in...

    Re: Dental decay....?

Did your dentist tell you how your baby got the tooth decay? Do you give your LO milk or juice in a bottle before going to sleep? I don't understand how a BF baby would have caries. I only ask...

    Re: Pump help

I used an Avent Isis for "once in a while", but if you're pumping everyday, it is much better to use a double electric. Not only is it much faster, but it helps maintain and/or build milk supply. I...
  13. Re: How long for gentian violet to work?

I followed the advice in this link:

    http://www.breastfeed-essentials.com/thrush.html

I used the GV for 4 days, and the APNO for a week along with it.

    Good Luck!

Re: Can I reuse the storage bags?

No. That solution that's safe for your bottles will degrade the plastic used to make storage bags, potentially opening up the possibility of introducing bacteria to your milk. What solution are you...

    What constitutes a strike?

My son is 16 weeks old. For the past week or so, he has been nursing strangely. He'll nurse 6-7 times per day, down from 8-10 when he was 12 weeks. He also finishes up quicker, in about 5-10 min....

Re: It is not getting easier

My son loved to be swaddled for the first 5 or 6 weeks. Then he wouldn't tolerate it, and he started to wake himself up flailing (once or twice he tooted so loud he woke himself up!:lol). The one...

I'd be honest and upfront about it. At least your employer would know how serious you are about getting your LO off to a good start in an unfamiliar situation. And then they would have an easier...

    Re: poopie squirt! =O

    Re: A new start???

I would say to let your LO go on the first side until baby is not actively sucking, burp, and switch . Let LO go on the second side until done.

And if you are having vasospasms (blanched areas)...

    Re: DH's ultimatum

This is what I do. It works, for the most part, especially because DH wakes up @ 5 to go to work, and DS is up @ 4:30 to eat. I hope you are able to get through to your DH, I've had no luck with...
