    Baby has a virus???

This is going into our 3rd week of stomach cramps, frequent jelly like poop, sometimes smelly poop, and general fussiness. I thought to start with that maybe it was something I was eating, but I...

Re: Medala PIS vs. Amdea Purely Yours pump?

REALLY? I didn't know this! Thank you!!! Have you seen the tubing available there? My tubes have a bit of moisture in them so I would like to replace them.

Re: What signs do you look for?

I'm just not sure. Several weeks ago I had milk and he didn't sleep good the next day unless I was holding him. I waited about three weeks and tried it again. Yesterday he was a little more fussy...
  5. Re: OT Did anyone NOT go in for their 6 week checkup?

It just takes so long - waiting and all that.

Plus I got tired of being invaded during my pregnancy. LOL
  6. OT Did anyone NOT go in for their 6 week checkup?

Just curious to know whether it's a must or not after you have a baby.

    Re: A bit worried ...

I just read in a baby magazine that children from 5th percentile and up are "normal" so don't fret. When is your next checkup? You might just want to mention this to your Dr. so you can be...

    Re: Messy eater

That's what I use. Keeps him from having dried milk all around his mouth later on. :p

    Re: Messy eater

Breastfeeding. As far as I can tell he's latched on properly. He eats so fast and then opens his mouth to catch his breath and milk pours out. LOL

    Messy eater

Does anyone else have a messy eater? DS has milk all around his mouth after he eats. Sometimes it's on his clothes as well.

Re: 2 week old not gaining weight

I'm no expert, but to make sure he was getting something, I would give him the expressed milk from a medicine dropper.

Have you tried feeding him after you pumped a little? Pumping gets the...

    Re: Hiccups

DS gets them alot too. They don't bother him unless he has them for a long period of time. I've noticed that if I nurse him they tend to stop.

Re: Has anyone ever donated their milk?

I thought about it, but I think you have to go through a bunch of tests and I hate having blood drawn.

One thing you could do is save it and even when your child is weaned you could give it to...

    Re: Wake to feed?

I wouldn't except during the day, but that's just me. Our goal is to get them to sleep through the night so why disturb that?
  16. How do you know when your baby is through on one side?

How do I know when it's time to switch to the other side? I want to make sure DS gets the hind milk. I'm afraid I'm switching him too soon.

    Re: Breastfed newborns spitting up?

DS spits up from time to time. It looks like he's spitting up pure milk instead of what I remember spit up looking like in other babies. Is this normal?

Also, talking about feeding on just one...
  18. Does anyone else "sting" when their milk comes in?

My breasts sting and are the verge of hurting when my milk comes in. Is this normal?

    Re: Strange question

What about milk or ice cream? Would that stay in your system a long time and be present in your breastmilk?

The reason I ask is that I ate some ice cream last night for the first time in 3 days...

    Strange question

Let me see if I can make sense here. Say you drink something with caffeine in it and you don't breastfeed until 3 hours after drinking, does your milk still have the caffeine in it or not?

His bottom is red in a few places - like spots here and there - one or two times I've wiped a tiny bit of blood when cleaning. They are not bumpy though. I use zinc oxide and baby powder. I...

    Foods to avoid?

DS (3 weeks) has tons of poopy diapers and his hiney is RED. He cries when I wipe him so I know it hurts. I'm wondering if I'm eating the wrong foods and causing his tummy to be upset. So what...

    Re: Pacifier question

We've gotten him to take it a few times but not consistantly. He is more apt to take it from my DH or DD than me.
