    Re: Maybe Never?

We stopped with bf on December 1st, my LO was 3 years and 10 months old. She had talked about stopping for her birthday, but fell in love with a My Little Pony lol! Afraid I used that to encourage...

Re: DH is imposing a deadline

In addition to all the other good advice you're getting here, I am wondering what would happen if you gave over the care of your son to DH for a few hours, just so he could see how much easier bf...
  3. Re: can't nurse for 4 days - what do I do?

My thought was if it's possible for him to stay with someone else for the time you can't nurse would be ideal!
You guys will survive this though even if you can't do that. He'll be so happy to...
  4. Re: Need Help with Weaning and Pediasure Advice

Three day trip - no need to wean. I went away for 3 days when my little one was 2ish and she started right back up.

I WOULD be concerned about the weight loss. I had similar problems with my lo,...

    Re: Suddenly wanting more

I found nursing a toddler was an up and down kinda thing! Just when I thought she was weaning, she'd start nursing all night again! Then she would end up having a cold.

    This too shall pass!

    Re: Toddler-isms

My toddler was at her grandma's with big sister. They were taking turns singing songs and she said 'I'm now going to sing something that you don't want to hear.'
They all cracked up so much that we...

    Re: Weaning from pumping exclusively

I bf my older daughter for 2 weeks and then switched to pumping. I pumped for 6 weeks after that. She started with the formula earlier than your lo then! I think it would be a shock to YOUR system to...

    Re: Weaning Assumptions Of Non-BFers

There's a lot of a 'you need to wean by one year' setting time limits kind of thing.

I never had any idea about when I might wean! Or how long I'd nurse and so on, it just kinda happened.

    Re: Concerns about teeth

I actually didn't really seem to have much problem with teeth while she was feeding!
And since I bf until she was 3 years and 10 months I went through ALL the baby teeth!
I guess the worst was when...

My youngest went through some periods like this. She just could not nurse herself to sleep for a time! Poor DH had to take her for long walks in her buggy in many different weather types and all...
  15. Re: 32mth-old preoccupied with touching breast after weaning

WOW! I weaned my nearly 4 year old at the begninng of December. She is also completely obsessed with my breasts!

    Re: A random observation

We just weaned! dd was 3 years and 10 months. It DID take some gentle pushing. I was willing to keep going if she needed it, but the pushes with no pushing back showed me she was ready.
    She still...

Re: 13-month old NEVER asks to nurse

I guess I just wanted to say that you can certainly try to establish a bond with your child that does NOT involve nursing!
Maybe the stress of it for you is also affecting him....

    I only nursed...

    Re: Ugh... the teeth, again

It WILL get better again! I used a lot of that stuff that comes in the purple tube (what's that called again?) which helped with healing and pain issues.

Re: Fear of ruining her teeth

My dentist reassured me by telling me that the sugars in breast milk are NOT cavity causing. Just make sure to brush LO's teeth before you nurse her to sleep and you should be fine!
