Question about making turkey for 8 month old
My 8 month old has been doing great with solids for a few months now. He has tried a good amount of veggies and fruits but now I am thinking of starting a few meats with him. I know it's silly but I would like it if he could have sort of the same meal as us on Thanksgiving (turkey, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin). I do make almost all of his food homemade so I would like to know how to do turkey. I have read in a baby cookbook to just use cooked pieces of turkey and puree them with the juices they cooked in but my question is ... what type of turkey do I use? I don't really want to buy a whole turkey to make it so I thought maybe deli turkey would be okay. What kind of turkey does everyone else use for this? Do I go with a low-sodium one or just a regular one? Any help would be great :) Thanks!
