If you want that long-simmered taste, put the sauce in the crockpot and ignore it until dinnertime. :)
I brown some meat, add a large can of crushed tomatoes, toss in some diced onion (fresh or dried), minced garlic (fresh or dried; can't have too much in our house), basil and oregano. I also like rosemary but dh doesn't.
Thanks! I will try it. I always find the jarred pasta sauces are pretty sour. I will try these spices.
