4 month old refusing the breast
I am a first time mom to a 4 month old boy. I work full-time and we give him bottles during the day and I feed him during the evenings and nights. Even during weekends we give him bottles during the day because he is so distracted and would not take the breast. Since about a week, he has started refusing to nurse in the evenings and nights too. He latches on, drinks for about a minute or so and then either unlatches or just sleeps there with his mouth wide open. He was nursing happily until about a week back and now he is completely into bottles. We tried putting him on the breast, lot of skin-skin contact and seeing if he would nurse. But he was so hungry that he started moaning and we gave him a bottle and he drank like he was starving.
I am at a loss to figure out what is going on. I would appreciate any help/suggestions on how to get him back to the breast.
Re: 4 month old refusing the breast
I wonder if he is just preferring bottles now b/c he realized they are easier to get milk from?
This webpage has just about every way possible to get baby back to breast.
