I have been exclusively breastfeeding my 7 week old son and I've been noticing a decrease in my milk supply over the last week. I went for my 6 week check-up last week and he put me back on birth control (Generess FE) which he said was fine for breastfeeding moms. I was able to pump 10 ounces in between feedings up until this week, now i can only pump an ounce. Please help! I start back to work next week and I really don't want to start him on formula.

My son was born with severe tongue-tie. We had it clipped after I went through 3 different lactation consultants, and the last one discovered that he had tongue tie. He had it clipped at a week old. The latch didn't get any better, even though the doctor said it would be an instant difference. I've been having to use a nipple shield because he blistered both of my nipples. I have tried everything to get him to latch on without the nipple shield, because that thing is so darn difficult to put on, especially when you're sleep deprived in the middle of the night. Has anyone gone through this and had success, and what did you do differently?

Please advise!

He also falls asleep at the breast and usually feeds for about 1-1 1/2 hours at a time, so I have been pumping as well.

I usually strip him down to his diaper, stroke his face, tickle his tummy and feet, and nothing seems to wake him up.

Hi all,

I have been taking fenugreek - 3 pills 3 times a day - to help with supply (in the beginning I was also drinking Mother's Milk Tea). I started having bad gas and diarrhea because of it, though -and I know it was causing it because I stopped for a few days, and the symptoms stopped. The problem is I also noted a corresponding dip in supply, and one serious enough to make my little one pretty upset. When I started taking it again, the production increased -but so didi the upset stomach and bad gas.

What can I do? I read somewhere to take fennel seed capsules with fenugreek.... can I reduce the dose somewhat of the fenugreek? I know pumping and feeding more will help, but right now is not a great time to add in more pumping (I pump about once or twice a day).

Edited to add - little one is 10 weeks old.

With my first 3 kids I was lactating by 35 weeks and this is my 4th. Pregnancy and I'm concerned I won't produce enough to be able to pump. My other question is that I have been informed I have inverted nipple which has made issue before with trying to feed. Does anyone have any tips to help me, because my only solution was to pump if I couldn't actually feed. But now I'm concerned I won't be able to produce enough to pump enough. Please help?????

Hi,

I had a C-Section delivery and my baby is 2 weeks old. Initially due to C- section i was not able to breast feed the baby for 3 to 4 days. She was formula fed. Later when i started to breast feed she is not feeding. She shouts and cries and does not try to suck the nipple. I am pumping and feeding her. I am not producing enough milk and she is also not trying to drink directly. My right breast is producing very less than the left one. My milk supply reduces as the day progresses.
Please provide sugggestions to increase my breast milk and also how to make my baby feed on my breast directly. Am very worried because of low milk supply and that she is taking more of the formula milk.

Thanks.
